All Californians Should Know:

Californians consume more than 16.5 billion gallons of gasoline each year!

The number of light-duty vehicles (cars) is projected to grow from 25.6 million on-road vehicles in 2003 to 35.6 million by 2025.

One 747 arriving and departing from LAX in Los Angeles produces as much smog as a car driven over 5,600 miles

At this rate we must adapt!

Over the last decade, Sacramento has seriously considered the construction of a statewide highspeed rail system. The proposed system would include intercity commuter rails as well as long distance bullet trains operating at speeds of up to 220 mph. The system would span from San Diego to San Francisco, with an express travel time of under 2 ½ hours between San Francisco and L.A.

A high-speed rail bond measure is scheduled for the 2008 ballot.  If this bond does not pass, California's opportunity for a highspeed rail system will be postponed indefinitely.
This website's goal is to inform and generate public support for this bond.  We need your voice to show our politicians and organizations that Californians want a highspeed rail!
